Jobs To Be Done
Method
Describing accurate users' need statements based on "Jobs To Be Done"
Why use this technique?
You can't satisfy a user need if you can't accurately describe what you need to change in their current way of experiencing things.
Users don't randomly use products. Instead, they use them because it helps them achieve a particular outcome – a specific change in the current state. The desire to change the current state is what we call the 'job'. Because this is only of temporary nature, we tend to “hire” a solution – a product or service – to get it done. (Yes: we also “fire” products).
